Two comrades in arms, sundered by death.
One laid to rest, and the other returned,
bereaved and full of health.
The fallen comrade, resting at first, traversed
the cosmos, with Angels fair and
splendor, to God’s throne and there merrily conversed.
While the other comrade sat idly by,
became a reclusive old man, ignored
and forgotten. All because he failed to die.
